2. The pups receive their first
round of worming medicine
between 10 and 14 days of age,
followed by an additional dose
every 2 weeks afterward.
1. Puppies are kept in a climate
controlled room for their first three
weeks of life.  The temperature
range is from 80-85 degrees,
depending on the time of year.

3. Usually around 3 weeks of
age, the pups are introduced to
their first non-milk meal of
warmed canned puppy food
mixed with an equal amount of
puppy milk.  The first feeding is
always quite a mess.  They catch
on quickly, but always prefer
Mom.
4. They receive their first vet checkup and first set of puppy shots at 6 weeks of age.  Most of
the pups go to their new homes between 7 and 8 weeks of age.  If still here at 9 weeks, they
receive their 2nd set of puppy shots, followed by their 3rd set at 12 weeks and if still here at 15
weeks, they receive their 4th and final puppy shot and rabies vaccination.
5. The puppy shot given is the 5 in 1  - DA2PPv.  This contains Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2,
Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus vaccine.  We do not give Corona or Lepto.  If necessary, Bordatello
can be given after 6 months of age.
